1. I guess one way to do it is to use Consumer Reports as a general guide and then rely on the folks at the GardenWeb.com forums for specifics.

Yeah, but the problem with Consumer Reports is that they pick only a few models to test from each brand -- and they may not have the latest models -- so unless the model you want is the one they've tested, I find Consumer Reports useless. I hope that Gozoof users and ratings will help me better!

3. You've probably looked at Consumer Reports already, but if not, they do include some models by Thermador, Miele, Dacor and Viking.

4. We think we'll be going with Wolf appliances for the cooktop and the ovens, although it is hard to find very many reviews or comments on their reliability vs other models such as Thermador, Miele, Dacor, Viking etc.
